International Society of Managing and Technical Editors (ISMTE) is expanding their international presence to Asia. This Spring, they are holding an Asian Conference in Singapore—Best Practices in Scholarly Publishing. COPE will be running an ethics workshop during the meeting. Space is limited. COPE Australian Seminar 2015

The 4th COPE Australian Seminar will take place in Melbourne on Friday 6 November 2015. The theme of the seminar is “Publication Ethics in the Australian Context”, and will include topics of specific interest to Australian editors and journals as well as a session on authorship issues and developments. COPE Seminar: AN INTRODUCTION TO PUBLICATION ETHICS

COPE will host “An introduction to publication ethics” seminar in London this year. This seminar is aimed at new or less experienced editors and editorial and publishing staff, who would like to learn more about COPE and publication ethics. The seminar will focus on the themes of plagiarism and peer review.The seminar is being held in collaboration with ISMTE (International Society of Managing and Technical Editors), on Monday 12 October 2015 at the Park Inn Hotel London Heathrow, 10am–4pm.

ISMPP (International Society for Medical Publication Professionals) inaugural meetings in the Asia Pacific region are approaching. Registration is now open for both (1-day) meetings in Beijing, China, on Sunday, August 30, 2015, at the Sofitel Wanda Hotel, and in Tokyo, Japan, on Wednesday, September 2, 2015, at the Hilton Tokyo. The theme of the meetings is "Collaborating for ethical and effective publication practices".
