We have launched into January with renewed energy in our mission to move the culture of scholarly publishing towards one where ethical practices are the universal standard. While we go about the activities that support our mission, it is also a good time to remind our readers what COPE is (and isn't), where COPE fits in the evolving landscape of publishing, and recognise the areas within COPE that will be reviewed. The Ethics Toolkit has been updated to align with the 4th edition of the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing. Read the news items on partnerships between universities and publishers, and unearned authorship -with associated COPE guidance.
COPE Members can now sign up to the March COPE Forum where we will discuss new cases submitted by members, and a discussion on artificial intelligence and writing.
