CIVICA online research training

Simon Linacre, COPE Trustee, is presenting at the CIVICA (The European University of Social Sciences) online research ethics training session for PhD and postdoctoral researchers from CIVICA partner universities. 

The session is part of research ethics training organised by The Hertie School and will focus on ethical issues in publishing, sharing and disseminating research findings.

COPE Forum: Tuesday 15 December 2020

COPE members can now register to attend the December Forum, to be held on Tuesday 15 December 2:00-3:30pm GMT. The deadline to register is Monday 14 December.

The discussion topic is 'Predatory publishing: next steps and where do we go from here?'. This will be followed by discussion and advice among attendees on members' cases submitted in advance (see cases below).

Following the popularity of our September peer review workshop, COPE is repeating the workshop at the earlier time of 9am (GMT) which we hope will suit members in different time zones. We will be working through peer review cases submitted by members, share in the discussion and suggest what the editor(s) should do next.

Medical editors short course 2020

Medical editors short course, PSP Consulting

Training journal editors for over 20 years, this workshop is designed to help editors ensure their journals achieve the maximum impact with the best research. The programme looks at the world of publishing, attracting (and keeping) authors; ensuring quality and increasing visibility and readership. Run with only 25 participants, the course is highly interactive and allows editors to discover solutions for their own journals.

The course is endorsed by the BMJ, Wiley and the European Association of Science Editors
