COPE Asia-Pacific Workshop, Singapore

Following on from the success of previous workshops in Singapore and Beijing, COPE is delighted to announce another half day workshop, in collaboration with ISMTE (International Society of Managing and Technical Editors), on Wednesday 28 March 2018, at the Novotel Singapore Clarke Quay, 177A River Valley Road, 179031 Singapore.

COPE Forum February 2018

The first COPE Forum of the year, where we discuss cases submitted by members, will take place on 26 February from 4-5.30pm (GMT). Taking part in the Forum allows members to contribute to, as well as learn from, the cases being discussed.

COPE Forum: dates for 2018

The quarterly COPE Forum meetings, where we discuss cases submitted by members, will take place in February, April, August and November in 2018. The Forums will be by webinar, except for the August meeting, where we are delighted to announce that this will be a face to face meeting at the International Academy of Nursing Editors (INANE) Conference, Liberty Hotel, Boston, Massachusetts.

Our COPE Forum will be held by webinar and is open to COPE members. Taking part in the Forum allows members to contribute to, as well as learn from, the cases being discussed. Register now as the Forum is limited to 100 attendees.

COPE webinar: Current Issues in Peer Review

As part of this year's Peer Review Week our webinar: Current Issues in Peer Review will take place on Thursday 14 September, 5-6pm (BST). We will be discussing the topical issues in peer review that are faced by COPE members, tying in with Peer Review Week's Transparency theme. Our four guest speakers will present their views and answer questions from the audience in a Q&A at the end of the webinar.

8th International Congress on Peer Review and Scientific Publication

As with previous Congresses, the aim is to improve the quality and credibility of biomedical information and to help advance the efficiency, effectiveness, and equitability of scientific information dissemination throughout the world.

14th Annual IAVE Meeting

Held at Swissotel in Chicago in conjunction with the 2017 International Congress on Peer Review and Scientific Publication. The themes of this year's meeting are peer review and predatory journals/publishers.

COPE webinar: Standards in authorship

Read the summary of our first COPE webinar for information, shared discussion and practical advice on common authorship issues faced by COPE members..

We will be discussing the main issues that are brought to COPE for advice, ranging from what constitutes authorship to guidelines for authorship and questionable authorship practices.

Three guest speakers will present their views given their background as editors and researchers and their experience in developing best practices.
