Publishing companies that wish to join COPE but do not have a discrete journal product published in intervals will be charged according to the number of articles that they publish a year. If a company wishes to register fewer than five journals then cumulative journal by frequency of publication rates apply.

- Individuals may apply for membership at £56 per annum.
- Companies may apply for corporate membership at £225 per annum.
The eligibility criteria for individual and corporate membership are that the applicant must be a person or company who working in or associated with the publication of peer-reviewed scholarly journals or has a significant interest in safeguarding the integrity of the academic record and who is NOT eligible for journal or publisher membership.
Not-for-profit organisations, registered charities, journals from developing countries and cases of financial hardship may apply to COPE Council for reduced membership subscription fees.
Prices in UK Sterling, no VAT is charged for membership.
All payments must be made by electronic transfer.
The COPE Trustee Board have agreed not to increase membership subscription fees during 2021 which means that subscription fees will be held at 2020 prices.
