Dr Trevor Lane is a publishing, education, and research impact consultant based in Hong Kong. Trevor holds an MA in Biochemistry and Chemical Pharmacology and a PhD in Physiological Sciences from the University of Oxford. After completing two postdoctoral research fellowships in Hong Kong, he worked in journalism and publishing at various academic, research, and commercial institutions. He was the managing editor of several general and specialist medical journals in Asia and the senior editor of two social science journals in the United States.

From 2005 to 2015, he headed a knowledge exchange unit at the Faculty of Dentistry, The University of Hong Kong, where he taught research communication and publishing ethics to postgraduate students and helped staff publish and publicise their research. From 2015 to 2018, he trained researchers in universities throughout Japan in research writing, publishing, and presenting.  

Dr Lane is a member of the Royal Society of Biology, World Association of Medical Editors, Institute of Scientific and Technical Communicators, and International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language. He holds a Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from Trinity College London and a Postgraduate Certificate in English Language Teaching from the University of Reading.
