Gavin Swanson is currently the Editorial Development Manager in the Academic Publishing Group at Cambridge University Press. His roles include: managing the programme for the digitisation and publication of journal archive volumes; advice and support for colleagues and the Press Publishing Ethics Committee; citation and other data analysis; production standards. He has worked at Cambridge University Press for over 18 years and prior to this he was the in-house Editor-in-Chief for Trends in Neurosciences, published by Elsevier. He has a BSc from The University of Edinburgh and a PhD from King’s College London, in developmental neuroanatomy. His post-doctoral research was based in London and Oxford, before moving into academic publishing. He currently serves on the NISO Information Policy and Analysis Committee, and has previously served on the NISO PIE-J (Preservation and Identification of E-Journals) and JAV (Journal Article Versions) Recommended Practices Working Groups.
