David Ofori-Adjei is the Editor-in-Chief of the Ghana Medical Journal. He is currently Professor at the Department of Medicine and Therapeutics, University of Ghana School of Medicine and Dentistry. He is a former Rector of the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons (2011-2015). He was also the Director of Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research (1998-2006).
David is an advocate of effective dissemination and utilization of research findings, and committed to improving the quality of medical journals in sub-Saharan Africa. He is a Co-director of the African Journals Partnership Program since 2012. He serves on the International Advisory Board of Lancet Infectious Diseases and the Global Public Health journal.
He is a Fellow of the Ghana College of Physicians and the Ghana Academy of Arts and Sciences. He graduated from the University of Ghana Medical School in 1975, and did a Fellowship program in Clinical Pharmacology at the Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, Sweden.
