Research

COPE currently has various research projects running:

  • COPE presented an analysis of COPE cases at the Sixth International Congress on Peer Review and Biomedical Publication in September 2009 in Vancouver, Canada. At this meeting, Liz Wager also presented a poster on 'Why and how do journals retract articles?' (Download pdf 17 kb) (uploaded 13 May 2010) presenting research funded by a COPE research grant which also formed the basis for the COPE retraction guidelines.
  • COPE is in discussion with CrossCheck about using its database and antiplagiarism software tool to measure the frequency of plagiarism and duplicate publications in the research literature and then use this information to develop guidelines for editors on how to use antiplagiarism tools.
  • A Grant Scheme, the details of which are here.

Details of the projects funded by the Grant Scheme can be found here.
