Could your journal or company help COPE with some practical support? We would like to be able to call on the services of a professional Press Officer to help us issue occasional COPE press releases. This would probably involve issuing 4 to 6 press releases per year (maybe fewer). The releases would be written by COPE, but we’d really appreciate help in getting them sent to appropriate contacts and electronic alert systems. If any COPE members think they could provide such a service, please contact Tim Feest (cope_opsdirector@publicationethics.org).
Or, even better, if you know of a suitably qualified person who would be interested in volunteering to act as COPE’s Press Officer and take a more active role (eg, in preparing press releases and suggesting PR opportunities arising from COPE activities), then we’d be delighted to hear from them.
