- Famecos Magazine is a publication of the Graduate Program in Social Communication of the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul. It was created in September 1994, in printed format, every six months. In 2001, it began to have a quarterly frequency. From v. 17, no. 2 (2010), the magazine began to circulate only in digital format, benefiting from the technological resources available on the publication's website. In its first issue of 2010, Famecos Magazine underwent a readjustment, adjusting its organicity of volumes and numbers per year, according to the guidelines of the Brazilian Association of Technical Standards (ABNT). From its first issue in the exclusively digital version, it now has a presentation text in which the reflections of the texts published and the new directions of the magazine are contextualized. It is characterized by being a scientific-academic journal widely cited in theses, dissertations, articles and books of Brazil, being respected in the area of Communication and the like. In all their numbers, unpublished articles are published exclusively in Brazil and abroad. The journal has a national concept A2 in Qualis da Capes. Its editorial policy is to select articles relevant to the area whose impact promotes the advancement of scientific research and the wide dissemination of knowledge, obtaining national and international recognition.
